Traveled 75 miles from Gering to Chardon, Nebraska, every Sunday, and at times during the week, to minister to the congregation until a new pastor was brought in.

My mission was to encourage the congregation, keep them united, and prepare them for their next leader.

Lead Pastor – New Hope Church

Mitchell, Nebraska

March 2008 – May 2013

Began as an interim pastor at the church in Mitchell, Nebraska. On our first Sunday, there were 12 people in the pews, only three (mom, dad, and teenage son) were below retirement age.

Grew the church to over 55 members, started a youth group and children’s ministry, and hired a young pastor.

Remodeled and updated the church. Helped the church purchase property adjacent to the church for a parking lot and future growth.

Pulpit Fill

Filled in for Pastors through Western Nebraska when they were on vacation, away for conferences, etc. I also filled the pulpit at Northfield when one pastor left, before the new pastor was chosen and they arrived.

Children’s Church Leader – Northfield Church

Gering, Nebraska

Don’t remember the dates. It was under the leadership of Pastor Len Reimer.

Launched a children’s ministry at our church.  Recruited workers, put together lesson plans, and held Children’s Church each week.

The ministry grew to over 50 students each week. The growth, in part, was due to a bus ministry reaching out to different parts of the community. Many of the parents of the children who attended Children’s Church began attending Northfield and gave their lives to the Lord.
